If your home  has a furnace, which uses home heating oil, you may have an underground storage tank. If you do have an underground storage tank, do you know the condition of your tank? Fuel oil tanks can last for many years, but just like any home appliance, there comes a time when you need to replace old and outdated equipment with something new and technologically advanced. Now is a great time to consider replacing your old underground storage tank because right now New Jersey has a grant program which will pay up to $3,000.00 toward the replacement of a underground storage tank.

The Ridgewood Fire Department encourages you to consider replacing your underground storage tank if your tank is 25 or more years old. Replacing an old fuel oil tank before a leak occurs, causing enviromental damage which can be expensive to cleanup, will save a homeowner a considerable amount of money.
